I find it really hard to work during the holidays, so I try to work on easy/fun tasks (eg. data entry, reading papers for interest) so I don't feel like I'm losing too much momentum. The hardest part is ramping back up to optimal brain functioning after putting it on snooze for even 2 days.
The long-term Daphnia/algae experiment is humming along well so far, although I wonder if the predators will eat all the prey. After 10 days, algae in the warmer treatment are already smaller than those growing at the cooler tmt (left figure). The photo on the right shows adult Daphnia from the first sampling bout last week.
